weekend box office 11/26

November 26th, 2007 by dan

Scoring the second-best Thanksgiving five-day-weekend ever with just over $50 million, Enchanted ruled the box office this past week. Critics and audiences loved the film, and I’m glad to see it doing well. It should have a pretty strong run for the next little bit. Sony’s urban dramedy This Christmas came in 2nd, with receipts of $27.2 million. Beowulf continued to do fairly well, though it’s still pretty far from its $150 million pricetag. It came in third with just over $23.3 million to bring its total to about $56.3 million. The newest of the video game-to-film adaptations, Hitman, did decently, pulling in $21 million and grabbing 4th place, despite nasty reviews. Bee Movie gained a bit more than last week, grabbing almost $16 million. This also pushed it over the $100 million mark as it became the 2nd film this fall to reach triple digits. Newcomers August Rush and The Mist came in 7th and 8th, respectively, with both earning a little over $13 million. Full weekend chart at Box Office Mojo.
